Cream the butter and the sugar. Mix in the eggs, vanilla, and sour cream.
In a smaller bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Then slowly add this mixture to the wet ingredients above.
Split the mixture in half and refrigerate for 2 hours.
Once chilled, you can roll out the dough on a well-floured surface. I personally like to make sure to NOT roll the dough too thin otherwise the cookies will not be soft on the inside.
Place on a lined cookie sheet and bake for 11 minutes (or until starting to brown on the bottom).
