Serves: 35 cookies

Ingredients
  • 1 Cup butter
  • 1 Cup butter
  • 1½ Cup granulated sugar
  • 1½ Cup granulated sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 Tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 Cup sour cream
  • 1 Cup sour cream
  • 4½ Cups all-purpose flour
  • 4½ Cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°
  2. Cream the butter and the sugar. Mix in the eggs, vanilla, and sour cream.
  3. In a smaller bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Then slowly add this mixture to the wet ingredients above.
  4. Split the mixture in half and refrigerate for 2 hours.
  5. Once chilled, you can roll out the dough on a well-floured surface. I personally like to make sure to NOT roll the dough too thin otherwise the cookies will not be soft on the inside.
  6. Place on a lined cookie sheet and bake for 11 minutes (or until starting to brown on the bottom).
